Preservation Policy
Social & Educational Lens ensures digital preservation of its content through the LOCKSS system via OJS, creating multiple distributed copies in libraries and repositories.
Additionally, the journal maintains its own server managed by LAKED S.A.S., which stores weekly backups of the entire OJS platform to ensure long-term availability of its content.
The preservation process follows international standards to allow for file validation and content recovery in case of technical failures.
Interoperability Policy
The journal implements interoperability protocols to ensure that its content can be harvested by databases and academic aggregators.

Copyright and Self-Archiving Policy
- Authors retain copyright and grant the journal first publication rights under a CC BY 4.0 license.
- Authors may share their accepted article in repositories or academic networks, citing the original source.
- Manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere.
Open Access Policy
The journal provides free and immediate access to its content in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). Users may read, download, share, and reuse content with appropriate citation.
Publication Fees and Funding
Social & Educational Lens charges no publication or article processing fees (APC). All editorial costs are covered by EDUTEM, ensuring free access for both authors and readers.
Commitment to Responsible Research Assessment (DORA)
- Evaluation is based on content quality and contribution, not on journal impact factor.
- The journal supports the use of diverse indicators, including citation context and applicability.
- It rejects the exclusive use of impact metrics for article evaluation.
- Each article is assessed on its scientific merit and disciplinary relevance.

Anti-Plagiarism Policy
The journal uses Turnitin to check for originality. High similarity without justification results in immediate rejection.
Verification Process:
- All manuscripts are checked with Turnitin before peer review.
- Excessive similarity = automatic rejection.
- Reports are manually reviewed by the editorial team.
Author Commitment:
- The manuscript is original and not submitted elsewhere.
- No full or partial plagiarism, including unjustified self-plagiarism.
- Copyrighted materials are used with permission or under fair use.
- No unethical fragmentation of research (“salami slicing”).
Appeals Procedure:
- Formal request within 5 business days of the rejection notice.
- The editorial team reviews the Turnitin report.
- Final decision within 10 business days.
- No second appeal will be accepted.
